Experience
Bethany earned a Master of Business Administration from William Carey University and a Master of Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Liberty University. She found her passion for counseling while serving as a children's pastor at a large multi-site church. During that time, she often met with parents and college students and wanted to be able to take people further in their healing journeys. This led her to begin studying counseling.
Bethany began her counseling career with The Net Counseling and Mentoring, where she spent two years at Crossroads Ministries, a transitional home for women coming out of prison. This experience gave Bethany a wide range of experience in addiction, complex trauma, anxiety, depression, and relationship issues. She enjoys walking with clients through life experiences to find true healing, restoration, and wholeness.
Bethany offers an authentic and safe space for her clients to process and heal. She uses a wide range of methods, including CBT, DBT, EMDR, and talk therapy, to help clients work through past trauma and build coping skills to live healthier and happier lives.
Bethany also provides K-9-assisted therapy with her dog, Hefe. Hefe is a sweet, friendly German Shepherd who has undergone years of training to assist Bethany as a therapeutic teammate. She is a fully trained service K-9, having completed basic obedience, advanced obedience, and service training through K-9 Evolution in Hattiesburg. She's one of our best helpers around the office, especially with clients experiencing anxiety and trauma. Her license number is 11022. If you would prefer Hefe not be present during your sessions with Bethany, simply let her know ahead of time.
Bethany has recently added to her pack with her newest puppy, Kölsch. Kölsch is also a sweet German Shepherd and is training to become part of the therapeutic process. Once she finishes her training, she will be hanging around the office on Hefe's days off!
